Allegory on the arrival of Ferdinand from Austria to Antwerp; Title page for: Pompa Introitus (...) Ferdinandi Austriaci, 1642. Allegorical show in honor of the arrival of Ferdinand of Austria, Landvoogd der Southern Netherlands, on May 5, 1635 in Antwerp. A classical temple is awarded by the portrait of Philip IV from Spain, and Profil to the left. The portrait is placed in a round laurel wreath, flanked on either side by a cornucopia. On the fronton can be seen how Ferdinand van Austria is given the scepter from Philip IV. Above this scene flies an eagle behind Ferdinand in Austria is a woman with a staff and winds a snake to column. The four columns of the temple present the victory, Mars, Mercury and Peace.
